Well today was a very good day. Went to the gym for an hour and a half. Walked 4+ and worked out on 3 machines. Went home Mother was out!!!!!!!! She usually doesn't go out until after I have left for work because she thinks I won't lock the door. I made lunch all by myself without anyone watching me and it was marvelous. I read the paper and watched the news all by myself!

Don't have a lot of time right now but I did go to the gym this morning. Only did 3 miles but we bowl tonight so that may make up for the rest. It's going to be a real challenge tomorrow because my grandson comes over at 8:30 in the morning for me to watch so that means I will have to get up really early to get to the gym before he comes. I will try. Work is not so much fun today, people seem to be a little grouchy. Bye for now. Hope to check in later after bowling.

Well I am just back from the gym. I have finally decieded to lose my third stomach. Hey why be greedy aren't two of them enough? I have been very bad of late, not going to the gym, not watching what i'm eating and drinking too much. After awhile it starts to catch up with you and then you reach the point of ENOUGH already! O.K. so I walked 5 miles on the treadmill today and have made a pact with myself that I will not drink any alcohol during the week anymore. Oh and I guess I will make an attempt to eat a little bit less each day. Boy when I write this down it sounds really, really hard. Well it is day one and I guess that should be the most ambitious. So far mother has been good today. I have not gotten in trouble for anything yet and it is almost time to go to work. If I can just make it for another hour I'll be golden. I have already showered at the gym so I can't make her mad about anything there oh yes it's going to be a good day. Except for the sad part. Today is the second anniversary of my sisters death. My oldest sister and I are going to take her ashes to the lane we used to live on as kids. We all have special memories there and it's the only place we ever all lived together. My sister Pat asked to have some of her ashes scattered there. We all miss her very much.

Hello Coco talks about life with mother

So I am wondering about a few things lately, such as do all elderly people walk around with their hands up the back of their shirts? I thought this was something only my mother did but I saw an elderly woman on a TV commercial the other day doing the same thing! Is it just a female thing or do men do it also? I would love to find out what other children of seniors have to discuss. I live with my mother so I have had a lot of experience with this topic. Living with your mother has got to be one of the most difficult things I have ever done. You grow up, get married, have children and then you can go home again. Your mother however has not realized any of these accomlishments or that you have aged. She does however notice that you have put on weight and does not mind commentning on that often. She also notices that your hair is a funny color and your skirt is way too short for someone your age. I am not allowed to cook in the house. Grilling is fine as long as it is done well away from the house so as not to turn the house black. I am well aware of the rule not to ever turn on the light on the fan atop the stove. I made a bad mistake of doing that one time and was told you never, ever turn the fan light on unless you are using the stove or oven. The stove is a complete different brand from the fan so I am not sure how they communicate this to each other but I can tell you I have never tried to use the fan light as a night light again.

I have decieded to become the Dear Abby of the internet. Tell me your troubles. No one knows much more about trouble than me. I will be called Hello Coco and you can get in touch with me at cocobeaupotts@gmail.com. I try to look at everything in my life with humor and see the good side of every person I meet. Get in touch I look forward to communicating with you.
